Queen Anne
This old Ford Truck haunts the neighborhood by my favorite market in Queen Anne: Ken's. The most volatile Kombucha ever can be found there. This was taken with my Canon Powershot SX100 IS. If anyone is looking for a trusty and inexpensive point-and-shoot, this is the camera for you.
Project update: I have 3 projects I'm working on at the moment, two of which I will post here, and the third I will provide a link to, as it's not blogspot appropriate. Keep your eyes open sometime after the 25th of July.

Sights from Today's Photographic Journey around Seattle and its Environs
Fun times again!!! This Sunday I decided to stay away from the target rich Ballard and Fremont markets and find some new inspiration. After landing in southern Magnolia and Elliot Bay park, I managed to find quite a few interesting goings-on. I hope you enjoy!!!
The first picture is Mt. Rainier from the Elliot Bay Marina.

People from Today's Photographic Journey around Seattle and its Environs
I didn't really encounter too many people today. Mostly I was trekking through southern Magnolia and the beaches filled with shattered concrete slabs (to prevent erosion I assume). After a nice quiet morning, I travelled to Green Lake to meet some friends. While there I photographed some baseball players, including this league player who has the most awesome team name ever. Just look at the shirt!
After I spoke with him, I photographed cute batter girl before wandering on to meet Kate (#3) and Katie (#4). Exhausting day, mostly.

Friday's Show at the Old Redmond Firehouse, Redmond, Wa
I am dedicating a blog post to each of the bands that played last night at the Old Firehouse in Redmond, Wa,. We played last, which would not have happened, if the wonderfully talented Seattle band, Siberan, hadn't cancelled at the last minute.
Since I am playing the bass (handsome, strapping young man on the right!), I must give credit to my friend Brandon for taking these photos (albeit with my camera). You can see Brandon in my "Impromptu Portraits, Part II" post, he's the second one from the top.
Here we are, and don't forget to check out our music at This site right here, click now!

The second band of the evening was Conservative Dad. Really nice guys on top of being excellent musicians. The drummer, incidentally, was our drum tech at Avast Studios when we recorded a few weeks ago!

Here is Alexis V.O., a beautiful and wonderful musician.

Fremont Ducks Have No Fear!!!
This photo was taken while I was shooting some bees on a flower in Fremont. I was manually focusing my 100mm Macro lens (awesome lens at f/2.8, btw) when this colorful guy wandered right up on me. He was only 3.96 inches from the lens based on the focus ring. Woo hoo!

The Origins of Aus der Traum Photography

Since many have asked, I decided to write an entry regarding the choice of "Aus der Traum" as the name of my photography company. There is actually a negative connotation associated with this term, as the phrase is most notably tied to graffiti that appeared throughout Berlin during the Soviet occupation of the city after WWII.
The meaning is simple, "the dream is over".
I've decided to resurrect this phrase and try to give it a different spin. Instead of the obvious failure associated with the third German Reich, I wanted to see "the dream is over" as a state of living in and capturing of the moment that affirms life and all the beauty it contains. I try to stand outside the dream and see the world for what it is. Not that dreaming is futile or foolish, however, I want to show the world in all of its forms, some revolting and caustic, others gentle and passionate.
That is the goal of my photography. Although my new photo project will be pushing the bounds of what is considered beautiful, I find beauty in that also.

Seattle from...West Seattle!
www.thekindnesskind.com

With recording of the new album and working on a new conceptual photo shoot taking up most of my time, I haven't had much time to get out into the city to bring you the new amazing and exciting photos you've come to expect (modesty is not my strong suit), so I drove to West Seattle to see what I could see. Not much in the way of activity, but I did manage to capture this interesting shot of the Seattle downtown.

Rodstol Lane Farm Abandoned Mustang
All of my work involving crime scenes has given me some ideas for photographic projects. I won't spoil the surprise, but it will definitely involve this car or one like it.
This was taken with my Canon Powershot SX100 IS. The photo has been unedited.

In other news, I am working on the second article in my series on infamous Seattle crime scenes. This one will be on the Capitol Hill Massacre, which I will post a link to shortly.

The Kindness Kind Recording in Southworth!!!
Day 1 -- So far, so good. We arrived at the church at about 9:00 am and began the long, arduous process of setting up equipment. This is mainly Charlie's day and he and Lucas have been working for nearly 10 hours now on the guitar lines.
Alessandra recorded some scratch track vocals earlier in the day and I played basketball with Brandon, Alessandra and her brother Andre (not pictured). After losing miserably at HORSE (I do have two broken ribs), I drank some tea and took a ton of photos. Here are the results of day one. This is just the first five, I will have more later tonight, tomorrow and Sunday.
