Seattle Sunsets

I found a few of these while I was digging through some past shots. My apartment on South Lake Union allows me a wonderful vantage point, not of the West, but of the colors in the east as the sun drops below the horizon.

The other two are from Alki beach in West Seattle. I'm working on macro insect shots this weekend and should have them up by Monday or Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm off to the Chai House in Ballard to read Dominic Streatfield's book on the history of Cocaine, titled simply, "Cocaine: an Unauthorized Biography". It's an easy read as he is a great story teller. Check it out if you get the chance.

Saturday, boring Saturday.

Here are a few shots from my day. Not much happening around my neck of the woods. A few days ago we had a bank robbery downtown and what I wouldn't have given to be in the thick of that rather than the thick of the traffic jam that was the result.

At any rate, here are some birds from alki, some macro shots from the beach and a city street sweeper who danced for my camera as a break from leaf blowing. Oh yes, and the moon at 400mm. I need to get a telescope soon!!!

Alki Beach Sunset and Birds!

Here are a few shots I took down at Alki beach a couple of days ago. The Heron didn't seem to mind me creeping up to about 15 feet away, although, a 400mm lens helps! I can't wait for the weather to get better so I can get some macro insects and flower shots!

In the meanwhile, I have ordered some exotic insects and am waiting for them to be delivered. I should have some macro shots very soon.

Five Shots of People I Know and Love!

Here are a few pics from my recent past that I have just rediscovered!!!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

Chandelle and Sheldon out front of the grand opening of Monster Clothing in Ballard.

Brandee, dancing in broad daylight in front of the Chai House. Also in Ballard!

Chandelle with my 24-105mm, captured with my 11mm Tamron. She is so beautiful on so many levels.

Chavon, doing the hula out front of the Chai House. I swear I live at that joint.

And last, but not least, Katie, playfully mocking the bikini model photo shoot in the background. Taken at Alki beach in West Seattle.

Creative Portraits

Monica and I went to Alki yesterday to get some shots. Not only is she beautiful, but she exhibited a great spirit, especially when I asked her to get in the 50 degree water!! I got in also, but only up to my waist, which was more than enough for me. I have more creative shoots scheduled for this week and I am really excited. I am trying to get out of "senior portrait" mode and really get some emotive pictures. Keep an eye out!!!

P.S. Krijn van Noordwijk is my hero.

Night Flight over the Puget Sound

This photo of a Sheriff's department helo on patrol was taken at dusk a few weeks ago on Alki beach in West Seattle.
