Birding at the Locks

I've been stalking birds lately. Its good therapy. Some people meditate, I wait for birds to do something. Here are a few shots from the past couple of days. Enjoy.

Seattle Sunsets

I found a few of these while I was digging through some past shots. My apartment on South Lake Union allows me a wonderful vantage point, not of the West, but of the colors in the east as the sun drops below the horizon.

The other two are from Alki beach in West Seattle. I'm working on macro insect shots this weekend and should have them up by Monday or Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm off to the Chai House in Ballard to read Dominic Streatfield's book on the history of Cocaine, titled simply, "Cocaine: an Unauthorized Biography". It's an easy read as he is a great story teller. Check it out if you get the chance.

These were taken last year and have never seen the light of day until now.

The models are Nancy and Anna. You can see more of them on my portfolio page at http://ausdertraum.carbonmade.com

Crash of the Day!

I was going to post this yesterday, but my chess studies got in the way. This crash happened on Saturday afternoon as I was driving around town looking for something to photograph. I didn't see how it happened, all I heard was the screeching tires and the crunching metal sound that means someone wrecked!

I was going to post the Soccer photos that I took later on in the day, but it was a clinic and I really didn't get any good action shots. I just practiced for my upcoming Summer sports shooting.

Just a reminder, I am doing portrait sessions in the Seattle area at $100 a session, which includes a CD of about 100+ images. For my portrait portfolio, see http://ausdertraum.carbonmade.com

The Internet!

As someone who spends way too much time on the internet, I can personally identify with this cartoon. After a full day of photo editing and organizing, I came across this and felt that I had to share it with you. Those of you with the Stumble Upon tool bar will REALLY know how this feels.

I will have new photos up tomorrow, including a car crash that I saw today. Stay tuned...

Golden Gardens!

Today was an amazingly sunny day in Seattle and I decided to pay Golden Gardens a much needed visit. I am working on my wildlife photography, so any constructive criticism is appreciated.

I am considering submitting some photos to magazines, but I need to get some really interesting stuff before I put together a portfolio. I am also thinking of getting a sailboat to live on! That is quite a big step, however, and really need to mull that over before committing.

I hope you enjoy today's post.

Shots from Today!!!

I started at Alki beach shooting the birds, but then decided I hadn't been to the zoo in a while. I'll upload a few more shortly, but here are a few to get started.

Awesome Banner!!!!

I found this on www.richarddawkins.net. Like Al Capone said, "we laugh because its funny and we laught because its true". At least he said that in the movie The Untouchables. I was unable to verify that anywhere else. You get the picture.

Saturday, boring Saturday.

Here are a few shots from my day. Not much happening around my neck of the woods. A few days ago we had a bank robbery downtown and what I wouldn't have given to be in the thick of that rather than the thick of the traffic jam that was the result.

At any rate, here are some birds from alki, some macro shots from the beach and a city street sweeper who danced for my camera as a break from leaf blowing. Oh yes, and the moon at 400mm. I need to get a telescope soon!!!

Alki Beach Sunset and Birds!

Here are a few shots I took down at Alki beach a couple of days ago. The Heron didn't seem to mind me creeping up to about 15 feet away, although, a 400mm lens helps! I can't wait for the weather to get better so I can get some macro insects and flower shots!

In the meanwhile, I have ordered some exotic insects and am waiting for them to be delivered. I should have some macro shots very soon.
