Christmas Eve Party at Vertigo

Christmas Eve at the Vertigo club in downtown Bellevue was quite the experience. Since I was shooting for the Eastside Business Journal, I was introduced to the owner, given a tour and given free reign to shoot as much as possible. Everyone was extremely friendly and the ladies were extremely beautiful. Here are few of my favorites from the evening.

Keep an eye out in the February edition of the Journal for an article and photos of the establishment on 989 112th in Bellevue.

Update

I have so much creative time on my hands, I think I've gone to heaven. I sit in front of my computer working on songs for my new musical project, I take a break by studying chess or networking online for my photography business! Then I edit some photos.

Life could hardly be better.

Here are some new shots of Stephanie. Ill have a few more later.

Showing at the Chai House in Ballard, Wa

I will have a few of my framed 16x20 and 11x15's for sale at the Chai House in Ballard in the month of December. Stop on by if you are in the area. I am sharing the space with a fantastic local artist who is a good friend of mine. He doesn't have a website for me to link, but I am going to take some shots of his work and publish them on this blog tonight or tomorrow. Keep an eye out. Some of my featured photos are below!!!

New Shoots Tomorrow and This Weekend!!!

Keep an eye out in the next couple of days for some new portrait work. With 10 shoots in the next week-and-a-half, I should have a massive amount of new material to add. In the meantime here is a photo of U.S. Chess Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura analysing his team mates games and some Humpback whales that I shot in the Pacific.

Shuttle and the 747

I've always loved aviation. As a child, gazing at the airplanes in the books my parents had bought me, I would spend countless hours imagining that I was behind the controls and soaring into the huge expanse of space. The first time I saw the 747-shuttle carrier, I was about 9 or 10, and I couldn't help wondering what the Wright brothers would think of two large metal planes connected together and taking flight. Anyway, the copyright for this photo is unknown. If anyone knows who took it let me know so I can credit them.

My Poor Car!

Just when I thought I was going to be able to get some furniture for my apartment, the black Volkswagen of Death careens into my beautiful workhorse of a car. I know those backroads just south of 45 in Frelard. No one, NO ONE watches those yield signs. Even though I had the right of way, I should have taken EXTRA precautions, because NO ONE watches those yield signs. The black Volkswagen of Death was no exception. At least it wasn't the slate gray cement truck of death, or it could have been a scene from Stepehen King's 'Maximum Overdrive'.

Anyway, the tow truck has the car and hopefully she'll be back in a week, all shiny and still needing an oil change. Back to life!!!

Be Prepared

I was going through my huge collection of funny and unique photographs looking to post something eye-catching and, since I'm in a cynical mood, I decided on this one. I think the message here is quite clear, be prepared. Rain can ruin a good offensive!!! Another good lesson to draw from this: Nothing spells camouflage like a blue, floral pattern.

Creative Portraits Galore!!!

Before I post some of this weeks shots, I wanted to share with everyone a photo that I found online. Unfortunately, there were no photo credits to accompany this photo, but it is too good to pass up.

I have been collecting interesting and fantastic imagery for several years now and have accumulated quite the archive. I will share some of these from time to time.

Sooooooooooooo busy!!

I guess that's a good thing though. I spent 8 hours on Saturday with models, at my studio and around the West Lake Union area. I also made it down to Seatac airport and found a nice spot on the 8th floor parking garage to get a few good shots of the planes.

Creative Portraits

Monica and I went to Alki yesterday to get some shots. Not only is she beautiful, but she exhibited a great spirit, especially when I asked her to get in the 50 degree water!! I got in also, but only up to my waist, which was more than enough for me. I have more creative shoots scheduled for this week and I am really excited. I am trying to get out of "senior portrait" mode and really get some emotive pictures. Keep an eye out!!!

P.S. Krijn van Noordwijk is my hero.

Shots from Last Weekend

Last weekend was quite entertaining. The first shot is Alessandra from, my band, the kindness kind. This was taken at the Rodstol Lane Farm in Southworth at a festival that Tony Mora hosted.

Early Sunday morning the paragliders were out at Alki Beach.

Waiting for a model at Green Lake, I came across this Blue Heron hunting the small fish that populate the small lake.
